Mobile 3D reconstruction seminar

Dr. Marc Proesmans: Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Belgium

In this seminar, Marc will loop through KUL’s research activities seeking "mobile" 3D scanning or modelling solutions. These solutions aim for easy deployable or portable setups to provide easy-to-use methodologies for 3D scanning or modelling. These methodologies are based on a variety of principles: pure image based 3D reconstruction (Arc3D), photometric solutions (Minidome), or portable structured light. A variety of use cases in the Cultural Heritage domain will serve to demonstrate that simple recording techniques, as opposed to more expensive scanning setups, allow for the creation of proper 3D representations.
